Great breakfasts, wonderful desserts. The Sweet Tooth can get a bit overrun in the summer by the cruise ship tourists, as it is right in the middle of the historic district and convenient to the shopping and sights. It is still a wonderful locally owned restaurant. The wait staff is known as the "Ladies of the Tooth" and is very fun, friendly, and occasionally rather sassy. They are known for their generous breakfast and great homemade soups. They also have good Mexican specials. The street front restaurant is located in a former saloon which has its original marble bar and pressed tin ceilings.
During the off season, the Corner Cafe (5th and State) and the Sweet Tooth work together so as not to compete too terribly much while making sure there are open hours for all meals. The Tooth normally opens at 6am and stays open until 2pm. The Corner opens at 11am and closes at 7pm. When the ladies at the Tooth go on vacation, the Corner keeps long hours, and vice-versa. As for the summer, at least 19 other restaurants are open.
