Local Secrets, Big Finds 2007 Pick

When you hear the word burger, you don’t automatically think vegetarian, but this place truly specializes in the art of the "made from scratch" veggie burger. And lest you meat eaters worry, you’ll find the standard burgers here, too. Food always comes out of the kitchen "fast," so often you’ll find hungry surfers after a day on the coast. The "relaxed and friendly" atmosphere is sweetened by a "huge selection of shakes and smoothies," plus, even though there’s a lot of "health-food," there’s the sinfully good "fried ice cream for dessert."

Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A very hip joint. The morning menu includes eggs fixed in omelettes and sandwiches, crepes, breakfast pizza and pancakes. They also have fresh-squeezed juice combos, like pear-ginger-apple, or orange-pineapple ($1.50-$2.50).

For dinner, what else? burgers! Don't eat meat? No problem (Totally nuts burger, hummabouli burger) - lots of choices for vegetarians, vegans. Other burgers include the jerky chicken burgers, quirky Cajun burgers, and a wild and crazy mushroom burger.

Also entertaining is the article posted on the bulletin board from the Wall Street Journal on the Crazy Burger Cafe and the attempts by the Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Rhode Island to force them to change their name. PC to the extreme!!
