11/22/04:
Just went to Pearl's this last Saturday. I was disappointed in the purple cauliflower soup (watery and lacking flavor), and my entrée (the shrimp) was just okay. My girlfriend's crab cake was more cake than crab, which is sad because this is the height of crab season, and crab is very cheap right now.
This used to be my favorite restaurant in Fremont, but I have to say I am in no hurry to go back. Go ahead and knock yourselves out, expense account people, but for my buck, I would rather go to Cafe Bellisimo in Union City or Papillon's in Fremont.
1/10/05:
Went to Pearl's on Saturday. The food was better, but bland. Service is slightly off. Premature bussing of tables, serving entrées without proper utensils, and passing a table without filling wine glasses. They’re not trying to do a bad job, they just haven't been trained on proper table service.
