While walking the narrow streets of Oura near our resort, we noticed a glass-fronted restaurant that also offered dining el fresco.
The menu was varied, from hamburgers to filet mignon to seafood specials of the day. The service was excellent – it was a Roumanian couple who couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. From the surprise gift of a wee dram of Portuguese port to wet our appetite to the crusty rolls and the delicious soup right through to the main courses, we felt pampered and very special. My filet mignon was cooked as ordered, and the steamed vegetables and rice were perfect. To top the meal off, I chose blackberry pie . . . mmmmmmm. . . no need to expound.
As night fell, candles were lit and the view of the ocean was serene and tranquil as we saw the lights of the fishing boats off shore gradually begin to shine on the water. As we sipped our "white coffee," we knew we were enjoying a wee bit of heaven on earth.
