This is the cheapest place in Tikal to eat, but in my opinion, it’s also the best. Here you'll get away from the tourists over at the Jaguar and Jungle Inn and finally have an opportunity to struggle your way through that tiny bit of Spanish you managed to remember from high school. The food here is basic but filling.

Best of all, the atmosphere is casual, so sit down and enjoy a beer while you look at all of the pictures and maps that line the wall. You can also learn a bit more about the excavation of the Tikal Ruins.

challenged for one reason or another. This hole in the wall is pretty much identical to its next door neighbors, all offering the most basic of meals for low, low prices. I have to admit that I was pretty hesitant to sample their food based on the apparent lack of cleanliness throughout the open cooking area and dining room. But when you are stuck in the jungle you can't exactly be choosey. I'm happy to report that everything went down just fine, but the next day I was gastrointestinally challenged for one reason or another.
