My Mother's Day Experience

  • May 10, 2009

Today was I took my wife and mother-in-law for the buffet. Made reservation for 4'O clock. Buffet was priced at $22/person. Selection for the price was not impressive. Everything had been left out for the day.... Nothing fresh. I had (5) people all that was brought there for specifically for the buffet due to prior good meals.
Today was the worse experience I had ever had!!!! The food was dried out poor quality.

The wait staff was not attentive. (We waited for 45 mins for the bill after they took our plates).

We tried to talk to the manager about the problems that we saw and she had nothing to to with us or was she willing to even hear our concerns. Our Bill came to $150... not bad for 5 people.... I have recommended this place to many of my friends and have taken my family there multiple times. Based on how I was treated this time I would have never recommend this establishment again.

The family that runs this buisness will not honor gift certificates from its failed establishment in Middleborough.THE NOW DEFUNCT CHICKEN HOUSE! I do not advise dining here.

The Wharf Tavern

The Wharf Tavern has some of the best seafood in New England. Located in Warren, one of the smallest towns in Rhode Island, its waterfront location is ideal for a romantic dinner with a loved one or to celebrate graduations and other special occasions.

When I visited the Wharf Tavern a long time ago, I had a deep-fried seafood platter with scallops, cod, and clams. It came with french fries, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. I remember I had to take it home in a doggie bag because the portions were huge. The grilled swordfish is not to be missed either, and for those who hate seafood, there is steak and chicken.

For dessert, if you are brave enough after eating your large dinner, there is a mud pie that is to die for. My sister and I had the mud pie for dessert, and it was a dream. It is an oreo cookie crust piled with coffee ice cream, tons of whipped cream, almonds, and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Savor every bit of it because there is nothing like it anywhere else.

So if you are riding the coast of Rhode Island and get hungry, stop at the Wharf Tavern and have a great eating experience.
