Wait a minute! The ‘60s are long over, but what is going on here? Jerome may well be the place where a lot of hippies have decided to retire. It’s a historic district that happens to be sliding down the mountain to the Verde Valley below. So find your way to the Red Rooster and chow down. Rest a bit and settle in to enjoy scenic Jerome. Feel something moving? It may be the building. Build on the remains of substantial old copper mines, the whole time seems to be on the edge of. . . wait a second. . . the Arizona New Age word for it. . . a vortex!
To make a long story short, they serve the best coffee latte I've had in years and the pie is so incredibly real, berry filled, and tasty that I might have been dreaming. The full menu is available nearly all day every day. There are no credit card charges for less than $15. You can use the restroom if you are willing to donate $.50 to the Humane Society, which is a good cause.
