There is very little choice when it comes to dining in Tartu but Taverna is a safe option. The restaurant is a tad on the formal side but the food is cheap, tasty and filling. Fare on offer is loosely Italian with an Estonian twist and has a good selection of meals as well as plenty vegitarian options. In Tartu, nowhere seems to be busy so places like Taverna are somewhat lacking in atmosphere. However, a good option for dining if you're hungry and on a budget.
