Venice Boardwalk has about 100 assorted food stands that really can't be called restaurants, except for one or two that have areas to sit down. Jody Maroni looks like one of the rest, except that there is probably a guy standing behind the counter, offering free samples of the exotic sausages. The samples allow you to pick the one you like. The fries are good, as well as some of the breakfast items, but the real specialty is the various sausage. They have a combo with fries, a sandwich, and a drink for about $7. They have a low-carb one, but I didn't try it. There are picnic tables across the boardwalk from the shack, but watch your food, as the birds are aggressive. If you only have so long and want a taste of Venice Beach, I'd try Jody Maronis.
