Well, the food was fantastic. It's Middle Eastern/Mediterranean-style food. The food was very tasty, reasonably healthy, and very fairly priced compared to any number of tourist traps found in the French Quarter (can we say Bubba Gump?!).
I highly recommend this place. They have a great courtyard out back (one of the only zoned in the French Quarter for restaurant use apparently). Hookahs are available back there if you are so inclined. It’s BYOB (at the moment), but there are bars on either side that you can carry drinks out of (remember, this is New Orleans). Apparently, there is belly dancing on Wednesday and Friday nights.
I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys cheap, tasty ethnic food (I recommend the lamp chops) or anyone who just needs a break from that hot Louisiana sun and wants to chill out in a cool, open-air environment. This restaurant would also be great for vegetarians – it’s hard to find veggie fare in the Big Easy!
