Pretty Decent

The Jahingar isn't as glamorous as it used to be. However, it is still nicer than other city centre curry houses. It is clean and light and airy. The prices are comparatively reasonable (years ago they used to charge DOUBLE what their competitors did).

The service is polite and efficient. The food is actually pretty decent and there is a good selection on the menu.

It's unpretentious and in my opinion compared with other Indian restaurants in the city centre & Perth Road the food and surroundings are actually very good.

To do better you would probably need to go to the ferry.

Prepare to be dissappointed

Having read about the luxurious decor, I was disappointed to see cheap, unconvincing plastic flowers on our table. Sadly, that was nothing compared to the utterly disappointing food we were about to be served. Out of our party of 5, only 1 person didn't complain about their meal. To make matters worse, when we told the staff, they couldn't have cared less. The big question is... who wrote all the positive reviews about the Jahangir???

Jahangir

Probably the best known Indian resaurant in town, booking advisable but they will usually be able to fit you in if there’s only one or two of you. Excellent buffet style deals and fast service. Prices to suit all budgets
