Description: The Floran II was, well, just ok. At least the food, that is. Our family ate there twice during our trip mainly because it is owned by twin brothers; Joe and John. The waitstaff is wonderful and the twin owners came out our first time there to meet us and to see our twin boys. We thought it was a nice touch. The view from the dining area is great!! The main dining area is reachable all the way back in the back of the place past the pool tables and the bar area and over a little "bridge." They seat you in a glass-enclosed atrium with a wonderful view of the harbor and Lake Michigan. It is well lit and they have ceiling fans, which make it nice and comfortable even in the middle of the day.
As I said in the beginning, the food is just ok. We had the Saturday breakfast buffet the morning after we arrived and it consisted of the very basics of a breakfast buffet. Nothing really stood out as great. Just average food served in chafing dishes which had been there a little too long. We had dinner there a few nights later hoping it would be better but, alas, it wasn't so. My steak was akin to a Ponderosa steak and my wife had the ribs, which she said were good but I got the impression that they weren't really. The kids, well, they had their own Goldfish crackers and some fruit and baloney we brought for them...we think they got the better deal.
