Well, in answer to my second question, yes and no, the restrooms are clean, but there are no seat covers, it would seem, anywhere in Germany, including McDonald's.
For the rest, here goes. The coke was flat, and served with no ice. The fries that came with my cheeseburger happy meal - which, by the way, cost around $2.50 - not only were kind of "chewy" but they tasted funny, like they added sugar to them or something. Meanwhile, an individual order of fries was different i.e. they tasted the way a McDonald's fry should taste i.e. yummy, with the adult double cheeseburger combo one of my friend's got. We all tasted the fries for both and agreed, though strange, this was so.
Further, I had to pay for ketchup! It cost 30 Pfennings, or 12 cents American. Amazing.
There was another McDonald's in the area, in the town of Vogelweh, at the Pulaski barracks gate. I'm not sure it would have been much better. This is the first time I found such a deviation from what I thought I could count on wherever I went, a classic American meal.
At least the beer they served there was good.
