A travel tradition of ours that would be easy to honor this time was eating a Chinese dinner; we had spotted the China Pearl just around the corner on one of our walks around town. The main decision was whether to eat out, or stay in, and this time it wasn't much of a problem to decide. Ensconced in our wonderful aerie, with windows onto the world overlooking the harbor, we just had to stay home. Similar to my holy quest after fish and chips, I am ever seeking to replicate the ginger beef we had in Calgary one night, but that's another story. China Pearl offered ginger beef; I called ahead, ordered the ginger beef, and went to retrieve our order.
With all the other goodies, soup, egg rolls, white rice, fried rice, and an entree for Sandy, we spent $38.63. And just because the ginger beef wasn't Calgary Chinatown-class, doesn't mean that CHINA PEARL doesn't serve great Chinese food; recommended.
