In Aberdeen, and in many other places, the pubs do not serve food to minors after seven o'clock. When we found that the pub that was our first choice of place to eat was busy pushing back the tables and becoming a nightclub we had to hike around the center of town and find another place.
The doorman at the pub suggested chinese food and directed us to a good restaurant within walking distance.
Though an unexpected departure from our fixation on eating only British and Scottish fare, our dinner at Hua Zhong Xin was perfect.
It was also the most expensive meal we indulged in, but we got alot for my sixty two pounds, a very good dining experience and a splurge that we were ready for.
