I am an avid fan of Japanese Steakhouses and have been to several in the MO-KAN area. I will say that Nakato in Springfield has one of the more enjoyable atmospheres and settings. However, my in my opinion, I enjoyed the actual meal more so at Japanese Steakhouse's located in Joplin, MO and Topeka, KS. Still, being in avid fan of such establishments, Nakato is by all means a recommended place to dine for a good family night out and will most likely leave you satisfied.

This is one of my favorite places in town because it is so much fun! Nakato is a Japanese steakhouse where you are seated with 10 other guests around a cooking stove. The Chef comes out and puts on a show while preparing your meal. The food is extremely good and the servings are large! You may have to ask for a take home box. My favorite meal is the Sea Scallops which are huge and tender!

The Sushi Bar at Nakato is also unique. After your sushi is prepared fresh by one of the area's top sushi chefs, it is put on a small wooden boat to float down a "river" until it reaches you.

Nakato has excellent food and it is very entertaining... you have to try it!

Nakato's Japanese Steakhouse

We went here with our daughter and her fiancé for his birthday. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was unbeatable for a fun dining experience, especially with a group of people.

The menu items include sushi, chicken, salmon, and steak. On this visit, I had the chicken and steak combination, and both were delicious. The waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks filled without having to be asked for refills.

Guests are seated around a table with a grill in the center. The chef comes to the table and cooks the meal in front of your group. The preparation of the food is entertaining, as the chef performs with his knife and spatula. While the food is delicious, the show that the chef puts on while cooking your food is the highlight of the meal. The sushi bar is in the center of the restaurant. When you order your sushi, it is placed on a small boat in a trough of water that surrounds the preparation area and is floated to you.

Everyone in our group had a great time and enjoyed the food.
