Fuente de Soda Toblu

Description

Calle Colon 110 near Benavides is across from the Holiday Inn, at the corner of Benavides and Colon. It is not a full-fledged restaurant but still a good place for a meal made with all-natural ingredients. Consuelo, the owner, runs the place, and she doesn't just serve you the food - she'll tell you (in Spanish or English) all about its benefits and why it's so healthy for you. You can tell she's very committed to the meals and natural products she sells.

Lunch usually cost me between 6 and 8 soles ($2). You can request a salad, followed by an empanada, quiche, or other items on display in the case. Items in the case vary by the day. The only items I saw that contained meat were wraps filled with chicken and veggies. After about 5pm, Toblu is better for snacks such as a yogurt frutado (fruit-flavored yogurt served in a tall fountain glass and sprinkled with cereal) for 2.5 soles. There are only three tables, so try to get there by 1pm for lunch so you can sit. You can also get items to take to the beach, which is only a few blocks away. It is open from 8:30am to 8:30pm and closed Sunday.
