As one of the few dining places in town other than a McDonald's, we naturally had to check out the Hog's Breath.

After a short wait on a Friday night, we got a booth. The choices were adequate. We didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive, and the waitress we had was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu.

The place appeared clean and was obviously family friendly based on what we saw.

We enjoyed the Hog's Breath Saloon, but I didn't think it was anything all that special. Not bad, mind you, just pretty average. They make great baked beans and the chicken fried steak was delicious. However, the grilled chicken breast was pretty dry. They have a nice soup and salad bar with a good variety. The decor was a bit puzzling. It looked like it may have been put together by committee. However, the booth was quite comfortable and we enjoyed the paper place mats were unique, with a most artistic rendition of the local area. Overall, we had a nice meal with good service. It would be a good place to bring the family and it's very close by the resort.

I did not care for the food, but in all fairness, my husband did. He had the ribs, and though they were good. Maybe, it was an off night for me. If you like casual dining, at a reasonable price, you may want to check it out.

This place was very close to the resort and was so good that during our week in Pagosa Springs, we ate there twice. There is a good salad/soup bar, and excellent smoked chicken and ribs.

We ate some of the best babyback ribs I have ever greased my face with. The salad cart was fresh and offered a good but not overwhelming variety of healthy fair. The waitress was friendly; she gave us directions and made suggestions for scenic areas to visit.
