A trip to Cape May isn't complete without a visit to the Ugly Mug.
The ceiling is lined with beer mugs that belonged (and still belong) to tourists and locals alike. Join in the fun when they have beer contests! Otherwise, sit back and relax with a cold brew or cocktail. A menu with a wide variety of things will tempt your palate.
It's a staple of Cape May.

The Ugly Mug is a Cape May tradition. The menu has a variety of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, and dinners. It is a great place to eat and drink with friends. When you enter the bar, you will see mugs hanging all over the place from the ceiling. This is THE UGLY MUG CLUB; a member has his own mug that he purchased. If the mug is facing the ocean, the member is deceased. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to eat with friends or family, I would suggest The Ugly Mug. All of their items on the menu are good. They are located at the Washington Street Mall in the center of town. They do provide parking for customers across the street. After 10pm, there is a DJ. Sandwiches run about $5, and dinners run $8-18.
