Eat where the locals eat

When you're in Costa Rica, here's how you dine:
You eat where the locals eat. Don't worry about bad water or bad food -- the country does not have a cholera epidemic, and it's not like you're stuck in the bush in Africa. Costa Rica is better maintained and has a better public health system than most American cities -- their economy of ecotourism depends on it.
So eat where the locals eat. Eat anywhere. Don't restrict yourself to fast food establishments or big places. The best meal I ever had in my life was at a little shack on the side of the road in a town called San Vito, where I ate a huge breakfast 'typico' for a quarter.
Hint: Everything is breakfast/lunch/dinner typico.
Breakfast = beans, rice, eggs, toast, coffee
Lunch/Dinner = fried plantains (YUM), rice, beans, and some sort of meat. Always get a glass of guabana juice, usually in shake form. Tasty!
