Rustico Ristorante
Service is horrible; hostess is snotty; food is overpriced for the quality and taste; worst of all, it is rated in Wine Spectator as having an excellent wine selection - they didn't have our first choice and the wine was served in cheap wine glasses while the table next to us was served with Reidel wine glasses. You have to buy a $100 bottle to get the good glasses…should be based on wine cost/person, not wine cost per table.

Rustico can accomodate large groups of people both inside and outside. If the weather permits, try to eat outside and enjoy the views of the mountains. Expect to spend a bit of time at the bar, which happens to be a refurbished 18th century bar from Ouray, drinking Flat Tires, the local beer brewed in Colorado, if you don't have reservations because this place is quite popular. We were suprised to find that the restaurant had a selection of about 300 Italian wines and even more pleased when Paulo Canclini, one of the owners, offered to help us pick the wine. The pizzas made in the hardwood burning stove are excellent and our group of 4 split one as an appetizer along with a serving of their lightly fried calamari. The service is a bit slow but they are quite friendly and had no problem pulling another table up to ours when an additional group of friends showed up unexpectedly. Even though we were there in the summer, the fireplace was burning so don't sit too close if you get hot easily. The fish special was 3 types of grilled fish and it was superb as well as being healthy. My dinner companions all enjoyed the fresh game that was cooked on the rotisserie imported from Italy.
