This is by far the worst restaurant experience I’ve had here. After sitting at our table for half an hour, with promises such as "be right with you", "just a second" etc. we were able to give our drink orders. Another half an hour passed and a guy, who on top of everything thought he was REALLY funny, came up and explained that they where a bit under staffed, which truly was an understatement. Finally our drinks arrived, served by a woman who couldn’t stop sneezing... in our drinks. We started to sample the wine while she laid down the cutlery. One of our party asked her if there was a problem and she broke down in tears. Turns out she was Swedish, as was half of our group, and that her boss was angry because she was sick. She got comforted by us and between sobs, she swore she would resign that very evening. As we polished off our wine, our local friend/guide got a hold of the manager and asked to speak to him. He said that the service left a lot to be desired and wondered what was going on. The manager got downright hostile and started swearing at us and we just sat there with our jaws dropped wondering what ever happened to "the customer is always right". We got our food after an hour and a half. Two dishes were not what we had ordered, we did not have enough knives and forks and the Swedish waitress needed comforting or she would have had a nervous breakdown. Two of the girls in our party went to talk to her inside the restaurant (we were seated outside). They got bawled out by the manager as soon as they set foot inside. It’s very unfortunate that restaurants can behave anyway they wish because of the flow of tourists -- the next batch don’t have a clue how bad a place is and this is why this restaurant is still up and running. Beware!
From journal Nice, a must see when in France!
