Unless it's a major holiday that dictates a home cooked meal, I often choose to go straight from the airport to Giuseppe's. My mom knows better than to take it as a slight to her cooking, and she is the first to say that the spinach lasagna at Giuseppe's is the best on the planet. At the heart of Bexley's Main drag, this tiny and modestly adorned storefront is usually flanked with locals waiting for a table. The wait is never long, and I've never seen anyone complain. Rapturous sighs and the sound of pants being loosened are the norm.
Chef Giuseppe's palette is not limited to his native Southern Italy. The Mediterranean Salad with tomatos and feta is perfect way to start, and his daily reinventions of ravioli are always unusual and outstanding. The menu, like the wine list, is simple and affordable. And because the restaurant is located next to the Drexel Theater, Giuseppe's is a great place to begin or end a date.
