The Best Pastie

  • April 12, 2009

I visited Tintagle in April 09 with my husband and daughter. I have been to Cornwall before but it was my husband and daughter's first visit. I told him that he had to have a Cornish Pastie from Cornwall to see what a real pastie is like. We bought two from the Cornish Pasty Shop - my daughter had a sausage roll which she said was absolutely gorgeous - the pasties were superb, delicious and with a light pastry with tons of filling. I have never tasted a pasty as good as these before and my husband "loved" it. The only problem was the size of them - they are huge so we didn't manage to finish them!

Cornish Pasty shop

This is a great place to see cornish pasties made and to buy them too. There is no seating. The shop is directly opposite the entrance to Castle Road, where you catch the Range Rover (or begin your walk) to Tintagel Castle. This is a great budget lunch option while searching for any evidence of King Arthur or his Camelot. Both veggie and meat options available.
