Don't Miss It!

Pier One recently opened after a 4 year hiatus due to the hurricane. The rebuilt restaurant is beautiful. The shark were shy, still not coming around at feeding time. It will likely take time to get them to come to shallow waters again. Dinner was excellent, and so was the sunset. The wait staff were darling and very attentive - especially our new friend Ashante.

Don't miss it!! My husband had the blackened shark, and I had curried shark with banana in a coconut crust with pineapple. Delicious.

Maybe the shark didn't come because they were on the menu???

First, I recommend getting reservations so you can sit outside and see the shark feeding. Second, pay attention when you're driving to Pier 1. There were signs to the restaurant, but we made a wrong turn and had to ask for directions. This is the only business next to the port. They feed the sharks at 7, 8, & 9 pm. If you are not outside, you have to crowd around a spot in order to see the sharks. We had heard that the food was expensive and not that good, so we just had drinks and dessert. Our tab for three virgin strawberry daiquiris and 2 desserts was over $30.00. When they found out we were not going to eat a meal, they said they were going to have to move us. They ultimately did not. The desserts were very good, but we did not taste the food. The atmosphere is really neat with all of the fisherman stuff and a shark in a pool in front of the restaurant. Allow plenty of time to look around and make sure you bring a camera. They have bread with the food. All of ours was thrown in the water. I recommend this place highly---not on the basis of the menu but for the enjoyment of the shark feeding experience.

This restaurant is at the cruise ship harbour. It was about a 25-minute drive from the Island Seas Resort. The restaurant is 8 miles from Port Lucaya. Even though it was a drive, the experience is well worth the trip.

Sharks swim into the restaurant at night and are fed by restaurant workers at 7, 8 & 9pm. The workers feed the sharks little fish and the sharks fight each other for the bites of fresh fish. The restaurant patrons can go outside on a dock or sit at their table and watch the happenings below.

The food was excellent but pricy. We found all meals to be expensive on the island. The owner has pictures up all around the restaurant of him feeding sharks and wrestling sharks! You can see the sharks actually swimming in the water while you are eating. More sharks swim closer to the restaurant the closer to feeding times. There is a souvenir shop which is open during regular business hours.

I would call for reservations before heading out to the harbour. We went in the early evening and had no trouble getting a table. The restaurant is open from 10am - 10pm Monday through Saturday, and 4pm - 10pm on Sunday. Have fun and don't get attacked by the sharks!
