Want to really eat well? Go to Bebel’s. We had the phantasmagoric dining experience that everyone dreams about in Italy. No menu, just Sergio, the owner, bringing plate after plate of superbly prepared food that threatened to burst not just our seams but our resolve to not let anything go to waste. (The waist was already beyond saving.) We had been there many times and this was the first time Sergio had treated us to this joy, but it was great!
Especially try the artichoke salad. It is made from uncooked, little baby artichokes, sliced very thin, drizzled in the best olive oil I’ve ever had, with freshly grated parmesan cheese prinkled over it! What flavor! Moderate to expensive. Great wine list too. Ask for Sergio. Tell him his friends from Puerto Rico sent you!
