Take a trip from here up to the Eagle’s Nest. All of the above are my favourites, but this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s available around Salzburg.
If you want to sample genuine beer atmosphere with great beer served direct from the oak, come here. And the food is typical Austrian. This is where you will meet the local people of Salzburg. A visit is a must. It is located on Augustinergasse.

This beer hall is all self-serve. There is an indoor dining area and an outdoor beer garden. The food booths are inside and outside, and each booth serves something different. The beer is served in the beer garden. Get in line, pay, get your mug, and then get the beer. It's cash-only for this good beer and food.

There are lots of places to grab something to eat in this monestary/brewery and all sorts of different foods. Like the name says, it's a brewery and it's damn good beer at a pretty reasonable price (compared to most of the bars across the city). It's a fill-your-own-stein sort of experience (stein included), and it's good place to go to with friends and sit outside and talk and drink (outside seating is in the warmer months). I'm not positive, but I think off-season, the beer is even less expensive.

The Augustiner is Salzburg's famous beer garden. It's big but quieter than Munich's Hofbrauhaus (but we were at the Augustiner in the afternoon). The beer is brewed by real honest-to-goodness monks. Apparently, monasteries like this get HUGE profits from feeding beer-hungry tourists like us.
