Really Fun and Great Food

This restaurant is great. It seemed like just a big tourist trap so I was a little worried about the food quality, but I had nothing to worry about. The food was wonderful!! They have baby alligators that you can purchase food and feed them. I have to admit that it was a bit odd to first feed the gators, then eat gator tail, which was very good by the way. Plenty to do there for kids and adults alike. Great bar with live entertainment. The gators to feed. An arcade. And tons to look at. We really enjoyed our outing here and my 12 year old son had a blast. They also have a great gift shop with really interesting items. It is a must do if you go to Destin.

This restaurant is in a good location between Destin and Sandestin on the main road. The building is in an old-style wood and tin. It is a neat place to see. They also have a nice playground outside for the kids to enjoy during the wait. Once inside, the old style continues and the walls and tables are covered in writing. Yes, you are actually allowed to write on the walls and tables. We have visited this restaurant many times and always have had quick service.

During our last visit, we got to the hostess desk and were seated without a wait. We did arrive around 5pm, though. They are also open for lunch and have a really good lunch menu. Actually, I usually prefer this place for lunch. During this visit, there were cameras and a film crew because they were actually in the process of filming a commercial.

Once seated, you receive menus that look like newspapers. They have articles about the place and the menu items. They have seafood, salads, and sandwiches. The kid’s menu was good, and we quickly were asked for drink orders and I also ordered my son a grilled cheese. We got our drinks and then his food. Our meals quickly followed. The food was good, but like I said earlier, the menu is more for lunch to me. The service was very quick and always has been on all my visits.

I will probably go back again, but maybe for lunch next time.

Fudpucker's

Fupucker's Beachside Bar & Grill is a must-do when in Destin. It is colorful and loads of fun. There is live entertainment, a gift shop (with self proclaimed "world famous" t-shirts), Gator Beach (pet live gators) and special teen nights. If you have children they will love it! If you are "young at heart" YOU WILL LOVE IT! They are quite popular so arrive early or be prepared to wait. This is also a popular place with locals and for good reason! Fudpucker's is a great time for all and a one-of-a-kind experience!

Enjoyed lunch here at the restaurant. Found out that the trigger fish (fudpucker) is seasonal and not usually available during the first week in May.

Fud's was a very unique dining experience. The menu is a newsletter you can take home as a souvenier. As you wait for your meal, you can sign your name and the date you visited on the table, wall, ceiling, or anywhere else you want to be immortalized--at least until someone else writes over it. The food is typical American fare, hamburgers and fries, etc. You can also order seafood if that's what you're hungry for.
