It's got what I love about restaurants. It's cozy and intimate in size. It's got great, consistent food for a fair price. It's got history (one of the longest-running locations in Manhanttan). It's got a great bar. It's nice and quiet (so rare in NYC). You can take a business dinner or your spouse and feel at home. And, while it does just fine, it's not someplace that everyone even in NYC is aware of. Perfect.
To get to it, simply aim for the Bridge but stay off and ramble down the little cobblestone streets between the BB and South Street. Parking is always interesting, but there is a lot two blocks away that's well-lit.
I'd also recommend going on a midweek day as bottles of wine are 20% off Monday-Wednesday (I think).
If you're looking for a nice quiet place for great food after a hectic day in the city... Bridge Cafe!
