The cafe sits behind the Long Beach Museum of Art and has a fantastic open patio with a view of the beach and harbor. You can join the locals in the morning for a $1.95 breakfast taco and coffee (espresso, latte, etc. are also available). They also have sandwiches that are quite good: rosemary roast beef, grilled chicken, and others. Salads, baked goods, and other items are pricey ($8-10), so the trick is to get your $1.95 breakfast taco, coffee, and enjoy the patio view. When you are done, you can peruse the small museum. Both are closed on Monday. The cafe is open from 7am-7pm and they have wine tasting events on Thursday nights.
