Mise en Place especially for its eclectic, even trendy atmosphere. That is why there are loads of young and stylish people there – which, incidentally, makes the restaurant one of the best place to spend time with old friends and make new ones.
The place is kept by the famous local chef Marty Blitz and his wife, Maryann, who have been veritable culinary celebrities since the year 1986.

Mise en Place has some of the freshest of ingredients – especially when speaking of seafood, with a really creative menu that changes daily – we went there for a week and found different specialties each day. Some of the tastiest and yummiest courses include fascinating choices such as Creole-style mahi-mahi served with chili cheese grits and a ragout of black-eye peas, andouille sausage, and rock shrimp.
The place is not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. We paid 40 USD per person per dinner – that including drinks. And you should really try their red vines with meat, or take some local white vine with fish dishes. Main courses typically cost in the range from $16-27 or you can order a tasting menu for $35.
The place is open from Tuesdays till Thurs 5:30-10pm, and from Fridays till Saturdays 5:30-11pm. Reservations recommended for most of the days, and I would strongly advise you to make one for Friday or Saturday night. All the usual credit cards are accepted.
