Title Town Brewing is THE brewery of Green Bay. Located next to the railroad tracks and the river and just off the up-and-coming Broadway Street area (known as On Broadway), Title Town Brewing has nice views of the river and the city, along with a large, open grassy area rumored to be a possible site for future music festival grounds.
They have a large lunch menu (a slightly different dinner menu is available at night) with appetizers, salads, soups, pizzas, sandwiches, and main dishes, as well as an extensive beer menu featuring eight beers brewed at the location, two special seasonal beers, and a root beer. Currently, the specialty beers are a Zachary Taylor Ale (can’t remember the exact name) and "Bock" to the Future, a German bock. We ordered both of these, and they were very smooth and delicious. The bock beer was very "hoppy," but the person who ordered it likes beers that way. Both had great aftertastes that hinted at its sweet side.
My mother highly recommended the wood-roasted chicken salad. She ordered a Rueben sandwich, my boyfriend ordered the bison melt, and I ordered the turkey-pita special ($8). Sandwiches come with your choice of sides, including fries, mashed potatoes, or a cucumber salad. The fries are excellent, but I always opt for the cucumber salad, not only because it’s healthier, but it’s also very sweet and tasty. It’s a mix of cucumbers, red peppers, and small chunks of onion in a citrus sauce.
Last time I was there, I ordered the cranberry turkey melt, and it was incredible. Basically, it was a simple turkey sandwich with provolone cheese on homemade zucchini bread with cranberry-onion marmalade. I highly recommend this strange-sounding but great-tasting sandwich ($8).
Everyone enjoyed their meals. They have quality ingredients and appropriate quantities, and beer comes in two sizes, 10-ounce or 20-ounce, so you can try a new one without having to get drunk from it.
You can also purchase beer by the gallon and merchandise. There is a bar area available for smoking and glass walls so you can see the beer kettles. There is a large parking lot available at no cost. Decor includes some retro-style signs, lots of dark and medium wood, and a naturally lit dining area separated into a couple larger sections, all nonsmoking except the bar. You can look at their menu and read about the beers at www.titletownbrewing.com.
