This was a huge mistake. I booked a dinner for four to celebrate a birthday. The place is lovely and has a great view, but it's absurdly expensive. It cost us $1,087, with one bottle of wine and four aperitifs, for truly terrible food. Much of it was tasteless. I wrote to complain and some of the bill was refunded, but we ended up spending $500 for an awful meal. They prepared a beautiful cake that was inedible, sour and gritty. It's labeled "fine dining" but is far from it.

We didn't dine here but just came for tea. Since it was so hot we had ice tea and they the normal tea sandwiches and cakes for tea. We just wanted to see the hotel since every year it gets voted the best hotel in the world by the travel magazine. It is most definitely worth the trip. Just walk around and check out the hotel.
