We ate here twice. It is an excellent restaurant. I tried the conch and some other local foods. It is highly recommend. It can be very busy, though, so depending on what time you go, you may want reservations.

The food was excellent at this restaurant, and the service was good as well. It was quite popular so you may need reservations during high season.

Elvi's is one of the best places to go for good, consistant Belizean food.
I highly recommend their fresh fish with rice & beans & the frozen key lime pie is delicious.
The Belizean food is better than the Western - so play to their strengths.
The setting is fun - a sand floor with a big tree covered in toy snakes!

We wanted to try Mayan cuisine and were told this is the place to do so. It's a big place with mahogony doors and sand floors. We had drinks (something the bartender made up on the spot, with pineapple juice and other rums!) and tried the famous chicken and spices wrapped in banana leaves. It was good. We also had seafood (with conch!) as a stew and that was delicious as well. This is a hang-out place for everyone, from huge groups to couples and kids. I think they do close on Sundays.
