The Buttery

We went at lunchtime, so we did not attend the dinner theatre that they put on. My fiancé had fish-and-chips (which was a lot of batter around a very small piece of fish), and I had the butternut squash soup (which was fabulous!). The wait staff was prompt, very friendly, and spoke with what sounded like an authentic accent from Great Britain. The environment was very quaint and fun.

Now for some fun. I had called ahead and asked a local where they would eat lunch and they recommended The Buttery. Good choice. Whether you prefer the outdoor patio (we did) or the inside "English Pub" atmosphere this place is fun and has good food.

We ordered Warm Salad- chicken breast on greens with a warm dressing and the Five Quarters (too facinating a name to pass up) and drank lots of iced tea while enjoying the warm weather and people watching.

Although we couldn't participate the feature of this restaurant it's Henry the Eighth Feasts where you can indulge in an Olde English Menu and entertainment. The menu describing the feast is fun reading and it's another one of those "next time" to do list things.

I suspect that the actors haven't given up their day jobs because our waitress' humor was a delight.

The service was quick and the food tasty. It was definitely a pub-style atmosphere, and advertised a Henry VIII dinner show in the evenings. We were there for lunch.

Service was quick, and the food was good. My Welsh Rarebit was good, but my companion's seafood sandwich was better!

In the summer, you can dine on the covered patio out front, or if you prefer, eat indoors.
