We ate at Fidel's right on the resort property, which was ok Mexican food, the first night. Good enough, but not the authentic Mexican we thought we'd get here. The second night we ate at Coyote Bar and Grill. This also had Mexican fare. I had the salmon with raspberry chipotle sauce. I think that was our most expensive meal and was about $13 so it was a reasonably priced restaurant. They have great tasting guacamole.

We did not enjoy this restaurant at all. We went because it was on the grounds of our timeshare. The restaurant was extremely crowded (tables cramped closely together) and noisy. This is not a place to come and relax; a conversation was difficult. Surprisingly, all week long, the place was overflowing with people waiting to get in.

The food wasn't anything to write home about either.

The food was good and moderately priced. We enjoyed lunch there on the patio overlooking the pool and courtyard. The hot tip on this resturant is that a great sampler plate that normally sells for $11 is discounted during happy hour to $5.75. With a couple of drinks, it made a nice meal for the wife and I.

Centrally located in the heart of Carlsbad, Fidel's is the place to go. Great Mexican food, fast - fast - fast service. Affordable, great for families, yummy margaritas.

Fidel's is a great place to eat. The atmosphere is great and it has inside and outside dining. There is also a separate bar if that is what you like. The food is amazing. I personally like the tostada grande and they always use all white chicken meat, which is great. If you like Mexican food you will love Fidel's.
