Flatbread Company

This place uses all natural ingredients in their pizzas, which are baked in wood-fired brick oven right in front of diners. The pizzas have a good thin crust pizza. It is a noisy but fun dining experience. There is an adjacent waiting area and a bar if you want pizza there.

The Flatbread Company

Thin-crusted flatbreads -- unlike most other pizza you've ever had. Topped with lots of natural toppings (but no twigs and sprouts, thank you), but tomato sauce only if you insist. All cooked to crispy perfection in a wood-fired brick oven that sits in a corner of the dining room. You see the entire process from the time they stretch out your flatbread until it comes out of the oven onto the serving platter. One basic, but healthy and very tasty salad; no more than a dozen pizza varieties, but at least two nightly "specials" -- one for carnivores and one for vegetarians; and a to-fight-for chocolate-brownie-sundae dessert that starts with a brownie heated in the wood-fired oven, topped with Ben and Jerry's vanilla ice cream, hot chocolate, and to top it off... a sprinkling of cinnamon! A good basic selection of microbrewery beers and a helpful staff highlighted our enjoyment of this unusual eatery just off the lobby of the Eastern Slopes Inn, Main Street, North Conway, NH.

Flatbreads is a healthy gourmet pizza restaurant. They offer a variety of specialty pizzas, as well as "make your own" pizzas. They use crust made out of wheat flour and all of the ingredients are nitrate and chemical free (I'm sure they’re not low calorie though). The best part is you would never know that it is good for you. It's delicious. A large pizza runs about $12-15.

The restaurant is located in the Eastern Slope Inn, so it is very convenient. It doesn't offer Flatbreads’ full menu though. It only sells pizza and salad. They also have a full bar with comfortable seating to relax in after a busy day.

Over the past few years, we've been here several times and it is always great! They serve organic gourmet flatbreads (pizza), great salads, local beer, and a roaring fire, which is perfect after a day of skiing. Don't miss the brownie sundaes!

The Flatbread Company is the sole restaurant at the Eastern Slope Inn. Unfortunately, all they serve is flatbread pizza. Fortunately, the pizza isn't bad. Fire-grilled and crispy, this is California style pie complete with "eclectic" topping selections that go way beyond your basic pepperoni and mushroom type.

Service (off-season, when we were there) was not very good at all, particularly when you consider that the place was nearly empty. All in all, I must admit our dining experience here was a bit of a letdown. We did it once, then opted to check out some of the other restaurants in town, such as Horsefeathers, Stonehurst Manor, etc.
