We had a large group and understood we would have to wait - no problem. We asked for a table for six, and were told there were two other parties of six before us. We waited, as they continued to seat tables of four - no problem. After 25 minutes we were called and told they had two tables of four together. We asked if these tables could be pushed together--NO. Therefore, after waiting 25 minutes longer than we would have had to wait (if we were going to be seated separately anyway) we complained to the dining manager, whose comment was, "You should've told her you didn't want to be split up." I explained that we did, that is why we waited so long to be seated together, only to be separated anyway. They refused to compensate us for this inconvenience in ANY way, continuing to state that it was their policy not to combine tables, and not their policy to adjust checks for problems--Sorry--"We could have just had you wait longer." Some customer service, huh? It doesn't matter how good your food may be (ok), if you have lousy customer service, it doesn't matter. There are many other pancake houses in Gatlinburg--don't bother coming here.

The best Southern breakfast anywhere. Great country ham, eggs, pancakes, homemade biscuits, and country gravy. There is buffet for lunch with fresh local veggies, fried chicken, and meatloaf. The ladies that work here are like your grandmother, so friendly and sweet as can be.

This place was huge and constructed with large old timbers. They offered more varieties of pancakes than I had ever imagined. I am not a pancake-loving person, but their pancakes were delicious! Their other dishes needed some work. Basically you go there for the many varieties of pancakes.

This ia wonderful place for breakfast and is just down the street from the resort. You get a great meal for the price. Try the chocolate chip pancakes-- they are to die for.

Log Cabin Pancake House

We decided to eat breakfast at the Log Cabin Pancake House on a Friday morning. Even though the streets in Gatlinburg where pretty deserted, the Log Cabin Pancake House was very busy. After a short wait we took a table in the smoking section right in front of a huge fireplace. The restaurant is housed in a very unique log building, with two large stone fireplaces, one on each side of the building.

After being seated we looked over the menu, which had a large array of pancakes, waffles, eggs, and omelet dishes. We both decide on omelets and placed our orders, and what I would guess was less than five minutes we had our food. Each omelet also came with three good-sized pancakes, so it’s pretty hard to leave the place hungry. The food was very good, with the omelets being made exactly as we had ordered them. The pancakes were delicious too.

We went back for lunch on Sunday. They close at 2pm by the way on Sundays. I had their lunch buffet this time. The buffet had a hot and cold section. The cold section was a typical salad bar. Everything on the salad bar looked and tasted very fresh. The hot section was not huge but had a good selection, with three meats (ham, chicken, and a steak in gravy), a couple of vegetables, a couple of potato dishes, and a few other dishes. All in all it was very good.

Make sure you bring cash because they do not except credit cards or checks, but they do have an ATM on-site. I did not see where it was, but I’d bet it had a nice surcharge for using it.
