Description: We went here on the recommendation of the desk clerk at the Splendid. It is the closest restaurant to the hotel. It is small and smokey and half of it is the bar area. This was not gourmet dining but we got huge portions and the price was reasonable. Again we had good salads, the bean soup with ham, chives and croutons was good but the potato soup was not creamy and it was too salty. The weiner schnitzel was huge and served with french fries-- too much fried food for my taste. The sauerbraten was not as tender as it should have been. The Augustiner Pilsner, however, was good and served very cold and the creme caramel for dessert was beautifully plated and tasted wonderful. The waitress was friendly and service was fast but the results were mixed. The desserts were definitely better than the meals.
