Description
Take your men to the Warung Budaya (translation: Culture Cafe) for dinner and they'll never know what hit them. This eclectic restaurant in the Denpasar Art Center is a sneaky way to lure them into - SHOPPING! The food is good, the service is quick, the artsy kids come here for coffee and have amazing style, and after (and before) eating, there are many shops nearby where you can buy pretty things for yourself and others.
Warungs can be found all over Bali. Traditionally, they serve quality food at good prices, and act as a forum for exchanging ideas and talking over a meal . Warungs are evolved from ngewarung - villagers chatting over bowls of rice.
Other types of warung include dakocan - young girls serving sweet black coffee, pasar senggol - little mobile stalls which sell cold drinks, fried bananas and noodle bowls, and the petukan (pub) - where men gather to drink after ending a day in the rice paddy.
