Chartier
It is packed and noisy, and if you want to get a table immediately, get there by 6pm or risk a 45-minute wait. Either way, when in Paris, you need to eat at Chartier. For traditional French fare at an Applebee's prices, Chartier is the place. The meals are surprisingly hearty and the house wine is very affordable. The service is brusque, so be prepared, but the food is traditional and tasty.
Want a 6 euro treat? Then get the escargots. They are tender (not really chewy) and taste-eee! Chartier does a superb job here, and I wish I had the time to go back for a second meal there, but it wasn’t likely on a 4-day trip. First time with escargot? No worries! Try it at Chartier and you’ll be hooked!

This is a very well known Bistro in the Montmatre area. We found a long line waiting for tables to be seated, but the place is so big that in 10 minutes we were inside. This is a restaurant where we found the food to be very home type cooking and with lots of ambiance. Not only tourists but locals as well.
