Feeling homesick for some good pizza and Haagen Dazs? This place is worth the hike away from the city center (just 10 minutes away) for fresh delicious pizza with real vegetables. My husband and I even drove here from Glasgow to get their fish and chips.

D'Alba D'Oro

You can't go to Scotland without trying Fish N' Chips- that national dish of Scotland. We finally got our Fish N' Chips at a famous place called D'Alba D'Oro. Like most all Fish N Chip places, it was run by an Italian family. A small shop, it was a well lit and clean looking place, with bar stool seating along the counter by the window. There was a display area that caught my fascination, as it was filled with eggrolls, friend sausages, pizzas, and a fried hamburger!!! Imagine that- anything already unhealthy they dip in batter and deep fry it! It is even rumored that children bring in Chocolate bars for Deep Frying. We each had an order of Fish and Chips with Brown Sauce and Salt. We had to wait a bit- so they were very fresh, flaky cod meat, and delicious! (But I don't think I could eat them every day!)
