In a city that has elevated dining to almost a religious experience, finding a good restaurant is not difficult. Finding a restaurant that opens at an early enough dinner hour to satisfy my rather gauche mid-western dining habits is sometimes a bit trickier. Punjab filled the bill on both counts, being both a marvelous dining experience and open much earlier than some of its neighbors. Punjab is softly lit; the dark, carved wood, Indian art and traditional music all add to the ambiance. The menu features both fixed price entrees (a good value) and a la carte choices. Be sure to try the samosa...very tasty! Service is very attentive and well-paced. From the complimentary aperitif to dessert, Punjab is an experience to be savored.
