Located off the beaten path in the 11th arr., this tiny restaurant has yet to be discovered by tourists. The chef is one of a group which was classically trained and have gone off to start their own little modern bistros. (The most notable of the group is Eric Frechon who was snatched away from his out-of-the-way eponymous restaurant to be the chef at the prestigious Bristol Hotel.)
The menu changes nightly and there are no choices except for dessert. At 30 Euro (about $27), it is a good buy. We strated with a delicious cold cream soup made of smoked green lentils, garnished with strips of foie gras. Next came tender strips of squid on a creamy risotto, one of the best risotto dishes I've ever had. The main course was an extremely juicy piece of rabbit wrapped in a thin slice of ham. This was a bit bland. My husband chose strawberry soup with fresh mint and highly praised it. I had a perfect molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. (A cheese course is also offered for a 6 Euro supplement.) Even the bread was top-notch.
Be sure to make a reservation -- the restaurant is small and fills up fast. It is located off rue St. Sabin; Chemin Vert is the metro stop.
