My husband and I were keen to try Angelinas famous food and drink so we walked past the night before to check out what time it opened (approx 8:30pm). As we looked through the window we saw a mouse, looking closer we saw at least 10 mice running over the counter, floor and shelves within the first few metres. I must admit we were shocked and dissapointed by what we saw as there must have been a serious infestation. The owners must be aware of the problem and we decided not to go there the next day. I would not recommend anyone to eat here until they have sorted the problem out. Look through the window yourselves at night and check it out...

This cafe is touristy, but they still have a damn good chocolat chaud and some of my favorite chocolates. The food is okay. They have mostly a lunchtime crowd (not open for dinner, and they only serve coffee/tea for breakfast) and serve salads, sandwiches, and quiche. Try the Mont Blanc if you like meringue.

I don’t recommend going too early in the morning. We were the first ones there in the morning one day, and the hot cocoa just wasn't as hot as it should be. I can't turn down chocolate anyway, but I think the staff is a little more on the ball at lunchtime.

Angelina's is a grand old tearoom renowned for its hot chocolate. The house special, Chocolat Africain, is divine-liquid fudge, but not sickeningly sweet. However, one rich cup of this is more than enough (one order has two cups), and it was the best hot chocolate we had so far.

Another Angelina specialty, Mont Blanc, prepared with chestnut paste, sugar, milk, and butter, looks like a muffin, but tastes out of this world.

This is the BEST hot chocolate in all of Paris! They serve you a pitcher of pure hot chocolate and a bowl of sweetened heavy whipped cream that you blend together in your cup! Oh my! This is a must in Paris! Try to go before teatime around 3pm!

After the rather intense Louvre, enjoy a nice, leisurely lunch at the luxurious Angelina restaurant. Founded in 1903, the Angelina is sure to delight the senses. The Quiche Lorraine is scrumptous. The French pastries in the attached tea & pastry shop are delicious. If you're there on a cool, Autumn day--try the unbelievably rich hot cocoa w/ thick, rich whipped cream!
