Though it's south of the river, don't let the location mislead you! This is London's hidden gem. Equally accessable from the London Bridge and Southwark tube stations, Rosie Tate is the best little cafe in the entire city of London.
With its location so close to two tube stations, make sure you have a fridge in your hotel so you can stock up during the day and pig out at night!
Just a short walk from the Tate Modern, I bypass the stuffy museum cafe with its overpriced soft drinks for this hidden stand, and have been known to sit at its outdoor metal bistro tables eating the fresh strawberry and cream tarts even during blustery, January afternoons. They have a wide selection from pre-packaged sandwiches to hot pasties, coffee, tea, and pastries to die for. Trust me, it's worth it. An orgasm for your mouth, and the portions are huge for your money.
A tomato and mozzerella sandwich on a cresent roll: £3.00.
Can of coke: 60p.
Strawberry and cream tart: £1.20.
