MOXIES Classic Grill

Located on the 2nd floor, above the hustle and bustle of the busy Robson St, after an afternoon of shopping we stumbled upon the elevator to Moxies Classic Grill. The elevator opens into an eye-catching decor of rich earth tone colors, of dark wood, comfortable seating arrangements and chairs covered in leather and animal prints. There was a river-rock fireplace, granite bar tops, and curved banquettes. The ambience was upscale-casual and as we later found out is part of a fast growing premier chain of Canada’s upper–tier casual restaurant. Their business cards say it all: "Our passion is food. Our secret is people." They endeavor to offer top quality food and fun, upbeat and guest-focused experience with staff that work hard to please.

The restaurant is a popular stop for locals and visitors alike. The large eclectic menu was diverse and kid friendly featuring classic West Coast cuisine including pasta, burgers, salmon and pizza. macaroni and cheese and grilled cheese sandwich. With trademark dishes that include "Roasted Double-Cut Pork Chop" - in a rich Shiitake mushroom and apple-brandy reduction, and a Glazed Salmon appetizer. My husband was impressed with the "Sirloin Steak Oscar" with scallops and shrimps topping an 8 oz. sirloin served with creamy béarnaise sauce. I was very pleased with the "Club Salad" served with crips battered chicken, chopped eggs and crumbled bacon over fresh mixed green and tossed with a balanced peppercorn-dijon dressing served with banana bread. And shared with our son, the "Three Cheese Pizza"— creamy topped with smoked Applewood chicken, fresh cilantro, caramelized onions and sundried tomatoes. Other entrées include; "Almond Crusted Wild Salmon"—pan seared and presented with a leek and lemon cream sauce • "Lemon-Pepper Halibut"—a West Coast halibut filet lightly grilled in lemon-pepper and garlic butter • "Honey Roasted Garlic Sirloin Steak".

The liquor and wine selections are well chosen and a draft-beer lineup that includes Moxie’s own Big Life brand, brewed exclusively for the chain by Sleeman’s. The assortment of desserts was irrisistible, including the popular White Chocolate Brownie—white and dark chocolate folded into a white chocolate brownie, finished with French vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce YUUUM...

Moxies was a pleasantly great dining experience, seated in one of the booths next to the picture windows, we had the best view of the busy Robson shopping district under out feet. It is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night dining and Sunday Brunch.
