For coffee lover, certainly a place to go. Whether you order your coffee directly at the bar and drink it standing with Italians in a hurry, or sit outside and enjoy it on the terrasse, this is a great experience.

Sant' Eustachio is located in Piazza Sant' Eustachio, right around the corner from the Pantheon. The bar prides itself on the secrecy of its cappuccino preparation, hence the screen behind which it is prepared. Unlike other bars, the barista adds sugar for you, still behind the screen if you want it - again with the secrecy of their blend. The result is incredible and well worth the trip.

On the small and cute piazza San’Eustachio, you will find this coffeehouse. Now, I haven’t found a single bar serving bad coffee anywhere in Italy, but Caffé San’Eustachio is the very best in Rome. And you can buy the beans. It’s a tiny bar but very popular. The coffee is served black and the barista serves it with the exact amount of sugar required for their coffee. That’s called perfection. I remember seeing one rolling his eye when the tourist in front of me requested milk and more sugar. Better order something else if you think you can’t handle it. So, it’s a stop for purists and real coffee lovers! I know I only grind my beans for great occasions.

This caffe arguably serves the best coffee in the city. Frequented by the most fanatical of espresso drinkers, the coffee bar serves its product heavily sugared (unless you ask for a caffe amaro) when it is magically produced by the barista - you can't actually see them making it and they won't tell you their secret. Surely the coffee must be blessed by the saint himself as the froth is so thick, you can finish it with a spoon. Don't bother asking for a cappucino or caffe latte here ... unless you want to be branded "tourist"! Be sure to leave a little change for the barista. You'll find it was worth it!
