Wolfgang Puck MGM Grand Hotel

This is an excellent moderately priced restaurant located in the middle of the MGM grand.

The front and sides have no walls, so the resaturant is completely visable from the walkway and some nearby gaming. This leads to the only drawback I saw for the restaurant - it was very noisy.

We went for supper and I had the roasted salmon which was excellent. My husband enjoyed the shrimp. Many people around us had pizza, which they are supposedly famous for. They serve wonderful tasting bread with the meal. They have an excellent wine menu, but I opted for a peach bellini instead (note there was no ice as they do not serve blended drinks here).

Excellent food, moderately priced, and excellent service. Others we had spoke to also enjoyed their meal here.

I would definately go here again if I was looking for a good sit-down meal.

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill

Celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck's restaurants are always some of our favorites and he has several different ones to choose from on the Famous Las Vegas Strip. Located right in the center of the bustling MGM Grand Casino floor, this chic restaurant is open to the action with no exterior walls, but only sectioned curtains at the corners decorated with bold flower blooms to go along with the overall modern atmosphere. There is a small bar area with a TV, and the dining room is several steps up from floor level. Of course, if you want an intimate, quiet dining experience, this isn't the restaurant for you,  because the noise level is quite high due to the casino just off the dining room area (although there is a glassed-in private dining room that can be reserved).

We stopped in for lunch and had several tasty options to choose from on the menu that has California grill-style entrées and offers fine dining options at a moderate price (~$25/lunch, ~$40/dinner). From truffled potatoes with blue cheese dip, grilled vegetable salad with sun dried tomatoes and feta, and prime beef sandwich with aioli, to Puck's famous wood-fired pizzas, baked manilla clams, and ricotta gnocchi, this restaurant has an item for every taste. There is a full bar and drink menu with unique cocktails and extensive fine wine list. The service was slightly slow, but the staff was friendly enough and was attentive to our table.

The restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday from 11:30am to 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to 11pm and reservations are recommended especially for dinner. We did not have reservations and were seated within 5 minutes for lunch. This is a great place to eat before or after a stop in at the Cirque du Soleil "Ka" theatre which is just a across the casino floor!

My daughter and I both ordered pasta dishes and thought they were overpriced for the quality of food. My friend's daughter had mussels, which were fabulous, and my friend had a wonderful salad. Very good service, although it was very noisy. I felt that the food was overpriced for the quality.

While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we stopped for lunch. We had calamari to start, and it was some of the best I have ever had. I had a bowl of soup that was okay, and my wife had a salad that she did not rave about, but it looked okay. A couple next to us ordered a salad and hamburger to share, and that looked like the way to go.

My son and I ate here once for lunch, on our next to last day, when my wife was sick in bed.

The service was fantastic with our waitress doing a great job and the food - we had the pizza - was outstanding. I know the next time we are in Las Vegas we will eat here again.
