LOVED Victors!

Wow, the food was fantastic and the alcohol flowed freely! When the four of us got to Victor's we all ordered a Carona, and Victor came out with shots of alcohol for everyone and did them with us! He must have a liver of steel. Every time you order a drink you get a free shot of Tequila. Margaritas were the best in all of PVR. We were so drunk after two hours at Victor's we could barely walk home!

I'm not one to stay couped up in a hotel and hotel eateries so when I was looking up reviews for dining locales in PV I came across Victors (Cafe Tacuba) on several different sites. Tonight, my wife and I took the short walk from our hotel in the Marina Zone and weren't disappointed.

Everything I read (with the exception of the prices which seemed to have gone up) was spot on. Victor is a wonderful host and he greeted us personally several times throughout our dinner.

The food, Mahi-mahi in a lobster shrimp sauce and a large chicken burrito were delicious at about 130 Pesos each. The drinks still very cheap (15 pesos for a beer and 40 for a margarita) were delicious as well!

The atmosphere is friendly and even though we had already received the complimentary shots of tequila (a tradition at Victor's) once Victor found out it was our honeymoon we were given a large khalua and baileys on the house!

There was even live music taking requests! If you are in the area, stop in to Victor's for meals all day. You won't be disappointed!

Victor's Place is in the marina near the south side entry. This is an open patio type of restaurant that serves beer at $1 a bottle all day, has great margaritas, and a variety of items on the menu from seafood to American dishes. We ate at this restaurant several times, and after the first occasion were instantly recognized by the owner Victor, who as a goodwill gesture delivered free after dinner liquors to our table. He also made it a point to talk to everyone he recognized from previous sittings.

This restaurant was a relief from the restaurants at the Westin Regina, where we were staying. Tourists weren't treated as dollar signs, proving there are honest restauranteurs that provide their clientele with good food and service without the individual feeling they have been ripped off.

I give a very highly recommended rating to Victor's Place and hope he does well in the future and not go under as many of the restaurants have in the past in PV.

We stopped here for drinks almost every afternoon. Beer is about US$1 and mixed drinks about US$1. Excellent service and friendly waiters. Good place to hang out in afternoon and meet people.

Victor's Place

Victor's Place (A.K.A. Tacuba) is located at the southwest corner of the Marina, near the Sea Garden and the Mayan Palace. Seating is outside overlooking the Marina, and Mexican and American food is served. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner, and all entrees are less than $10 USD. In fact, you'll find you can have a GREAT meal (American or Mexican), a couple of drinks (beers were $1), and get out of there for well under $10.

I had a delicious meal of fajitas that came with homemade tortillas. Later in my vacation I began to tire of Mexican food, so I ordered a good ole American club sandwich. It was made with fresh chicken and was better than any I've had in the States.

The best part of this place, however, was the friendly service. The waiter remembered our names on our return trip and offered us free after-dinner coffee drinks. I don't recall the name of the drink, but they had a small amount of alcohol and a cinnamon flavor to it.

At the end of our meal, they made us feel very welcome to sit and overlook the beautiful marina. Like most TRUE traditional Mexican restaurants, the customers request the check at the end of their dining experience...something that I didn't encounter at other spots in P.V.

Overall, Victor's Place is a great spot for quality Mexican food or for someone in need of some flavors from back home in the States.
